Ioannis specialises in corporate and commercial transactional work, with a focus on M&A transactions, investments and restructurings as well as general contract matters - such as joint ventures, partnerships and commercial agreements.
Drawing on his extensive commercial experience, Ioannis has developed the firm’s dispute resolution practice, which complements the firm’s broader advisory work and focuses on complex business law matters under Cyprus law.
Ioannis is a qualified lawyer in both Cyprus and England & Wales. Before founding Yiasemis LLC, he worked as a corporate finance lawyer in the London office of international law firm Addleshaw Goddard, where he advised prominent global businesses and individuals on market-leading transactions across a broad range of industries.

● Acted for European energy giant SSE on its joint venture with TotalEnergies in relation to the development and operation of EV charging hubs for electric vehicles in the UK and Ireland.
● Acted for HSBC on the sale of its Armenian business to Ardshinbank as part of an auction sale process.
● Acted for Halma plc (a FTSE 100 constituent) on its cross-border acquisition of Cyprus-based FirePro.
● Advised BNP Paribas on its acquisition of Kantox, a leading fintech for automation of currency risk management.
● Advised Motor Oil Hellas on the Cyprus law aspects of its joint venture with GEK Terna in relation to the combination of their electricity, gas supply and thermal generation businesses.
● Acted for Zurich Insurance on its investment in digital insurance provider Ominimo Insurance.
● Acted for global technology and recruitment consultancy Nash Squared on the strategic divestment of its NashTech business to PAG.
● Acted for LDC (Lloyds Bank’s investment arm) on its investment into Creative ITC, a cloud computing service provider.
● Advised Telekom Srbija on the Cyprus law aspects of its acquisition of Eon TV International Ltd, the direct-to-home business trading as EoNSat and Total TV in Serbia and North Macedonia.
● Advised a European asset management firm on the emergency refinancing of its portfolio companies from a consortium of finance providers.
● Advised premium drinks business Cirrus Inns on its reorganisation and business combination with PE-backed Liberation Group;
● Acted for private equity firm Blixt Group on its investment in regulated professional services group Duncan & Toplis;
● Acted for private equity firm Terra Firma on its acquisition of leading East Anglian housebuilder Hopkins Homes.
● Advised chemical conglomerate Solvay on the disposal of its amphoteric surfactants business to private equity firm OpenGate Capital.
